Binu Jacob, MD, FACC, FHRS

Dr. Binu Jacob is the Chief of Cardiology and Director of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation at Advent Health Zephyrhills, Florida. Dr. Jacob completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida under a full academic scholarship, completing the six-year Honors Program in Medicine, graduating Cum Laude and with a M.D. from the Miller School of Medicine. While in medical school, Dr. Jacob had the opportunity to perform cardiovascular research under an American Heart Association research grant.


Dr. Jacob travelled to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California, completing his Internal Medicine Residency, and EBCT Heart Failure Research at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. He then went to the University of Florida, Shands, Jacksonville, Florida to complete a Post-Doctoral Associate in Heart Failure and Cardiovascular Fellowship.


Dr. Jacob subsequently completed his first year of Electrophysiology Fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon and his second year of Electrophysiology in Advanced Ablation at the University of Miami, Miami, Florida. In addition to General Cardiology, Heart Failure, and Electrophysiology, Dr. Jacob offers device and ablation therapy as well. He acts as Principal Investigator on several research projects in the field of Heart Failure with Cozy Research.

 

In 2018, he has won the Physician of the Quarter Award issued by Advent Health. Dr. Jacob serves on the Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics, Medical Staff Quality and Medical Executive Committees, and is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Electrophysiology

 

He is blessed with two sons, and enjoys nature and travels with them.

 

Dr. Jacob specilizes in clinical cardiac electrophysiology with expertise in cardiac arrhythmia and heart failure.
